Fair Competition:
All qualified players have been reviewed in two ways to determine if their skills have advanced to a point that they need to play the National Championship at a higher skill level than the skill level they played when they qualified.
- First, each player was reviewed by their home club to determine if their skill level has increased to a point that they need to move up to higher skill level. Those that needed to move up will only be eligible to play in the National Championship at the higher skill level determined by their home club. This review was conducted and will not be conducted again for these players at a later date.
- Second, all players’ DUPR ratings were be reviewed by our Championship Series Tournament Committee on specific days in October. If a player’s DUPR score was .5 or higher than the skill level they qualified in and they had a reliability score of 60 or higher (as advised directly by DUPR) on that date, they will only be eligible to play in the National Championship at the higher skill level. (i.e., if a player qualified at 3.5 doubles and either partner’s Oct DUPR score is 4.00 or higher and has a reliability rating of 60+ that team would only qualify to play at the National Championship at the 4.0 level.). This review was conducted and will not be conducted again for these players at a later date.
- All substitute players will be evaluated in these same ways at the time that they are reviewed through the registration process.
